The 1/8 oz. Bahamas Skimmer Series Jig was originally designed for fishing the crystal clear flats of the Bahamas. The Bonefish of Andros, Grand Bahama, Treasure Cay, Walkers Cay and Deepwater Cay ate them up. Then we found all the other uses for these smaller profile BackBone Jigs. The shallows of the coastal waters of the U.S. is home to some of the spookiest fish in the world. This is an area where the Bahamas Skimmer excels. Less splash, almost silent entry and it's slimmer profile enables it to land closer to fish without spooking them.

Bonefish

Whether you are fishing the flats of the Bahamas, Los Roques, Belize, Christmas Island, Ascension Bay or right here in the Florida Keys, The Bahamas Skimmer Series Jig will fool even the toughest bonefish. Best colors vary from spot to spot but most of the guides agree that you can't go wrong with the tan and brown combination. The chartreuses, tans and pinks are also favorites in all areas for bonefish. See the Bahamas Series Tan/Chartreuse Jig Pack in our online store.

Redfish

The Bahamas Skimmer should be used for Redfish when they are found in ultra shallow or clear water. Fish them on all the shallow flats in Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas. If the water is murky try the black or tan/brown. If the water is clear you can never beat the chartreuses. Try the white/chartreuse, tan/chartreuse combinations. Add a 3" Gulp Scented Shrimp to your jig to add smell and weight for long distance casting. See the Bahamas Series Back in Black Jig Pack in our online store.

Snook

The Bahamas Skimmer should be used for Snook when they are found in ultra shallow or clear water, or where you want to keep your lure high in the water column. See the Bahamas Series Tan/Chartreuse Jig Pack in our online store.

Permit

Permit in the Yucatan go crazy over the tan/brown Bahamas Skimmer. Tan/brown seems to be the worldwide choice for permit. The permit prefer the lure to be kicking up puffs of sand off the bottom. Retrieve the jig slowly with little twitches. See the Bahamas Series Tan/Brown Jig Pack in our online store.
